L-Erythrulose is a natural keto-sugar which reacts with free primary or second amino groups in the upper layers of the epidermis. It’s more stable and has lower reactivity with the proteins in the skin compared to 1,3-Dihydroxyacetone.Used in combination with 1,3-Dihydroxyacetone(DHA) for getting fast results.
Functions of L-Erythrulose
•Natural-looking tan:
Erythrulose provides a sun-kissed, natural-looking tan without the need for sun exposure. By reacting with the amino acids in the skin’s keratin proteins, it creates a temporary browning effect, giving the appearance of a natural tan.
•Reduced risk of skin damage:
Since Erythrulose helps achieve a tan without exposing the skin to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, it reduces the risk of skin damage associated with sun exposure, such as premature aging, sunburn, and increased risk of skin cancer.
•Improved tanning results:
When combined with other tanning agents like Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), Erythrulose can improve the overall tanning effect, resulting in a more even, longer-lasting tan with less streaking or patchiness. This synergy between Erythrulose and DHA ensures a more desirable and consistent tanning outcome.
•Gentle on the skin:
Erythrulose is generally well-tolerated and gentle on the skin, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types, including normal, dry, oily, and combination skin.
