Cosmate^®SCLG,Sclerotium Gum is a natural gum that produces an instant gel base when combined with water. It is a gel-like polysaccharide produced through a fermentation process of Sclerotium rolfsii on a glucose-based medium. Cosmate^®SCLG is a member of the β-glucan family. It retains skin moisture in a natural way and improves the sensory characteristics of personal care formulations. When it comes to skin, beta glucans have been found to be film forming, wound healing and skin smoothing.Some applications include: After shaves, anti-wrinkle, after-sun, moisturizers, toothpastes, deodorants, conditioners and shampoos.Cosmate^®SCLG,Sclerotium Gum has natural skin smoothing as well as soothing properties. Cosmate^®SCLG,Sclerotium Gum is a multifunctional gelling agent with stabilizing properties,similar to Xanthan gum and Pullulan with rheological properties but unlike most natural and synthetic gums, it has high thermal stability, is resistant to hydrolysis and retains skin moisture due to its efficiency as a thickening agent, emulsifier and stabilizer. It is a highly stable, natural, non-ionic polymer. It provides a unique elegant touch and non-tacky sensorial profile of the final cosmetic product. It is easily dispersible in cold process and shows good skin compatibility.
